Zombie Miniatures

Mantic Plastic Zombie
Zombies! Probably the most popular of all undead.

Brainless, fragile yet relentless creatures of the night. They have a unquenchable desire to consume brain matter, to make their victims another member of their undead horde. Apt to losing a limb (or two) on their way to beat your brains out with their bare hands. They will get you, eventually.

Neodymium Magnets and Warhammer Miniatures

Wednesday, January 11th, 2012

Neodymium Magnets are used by Warhammer gamers to create simple pose-able units.

You can obtain very small Neodymium Magnets that will fit in the armature of your units. Assuming your miniature’s arm is already a separate item you will need to cut a small pit in the arm and the shoulder area of the torso. Glue one magnet into the arm and one into the torso ensuring that the magnetic poles are opposite so that they attract each other. This works best with plastic figures as these are easy to cut into, especially the warhammer 40k marines that have surplus plastic due to their body armour. With metal miniatures the chances are you will have to amputate the arm in the first place, and there may not be enough material to allow you to create a hole large enough for even the smallest of magnets.

Of course this is just one use for these small, powerful magnets. Other miniature related uses for Neodymium magnets include…

Reaper Miniatures — Terror On Planet X

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

Winning my coveted painted miniature of the week is this fabulous diorama entitled “Terror On Planet X”…

What did they make the landscape out of? My guesss is some kind of crunchy breakfast cereal. Might get a bit smelly after a few weeks though and whatever you do don’t go spilling milk over it.

I love Reaper Miniature’s mouselings and own a few of the little guys myself. You can get the mouselings separately or with the big buy as a deluxe “Terror On Planet X” set.

Reaper also currently have a halloween offer (until end of October) of a small bag of halloween related goodies if you spend over 40 dollars with them.

Reaper 01434 Space Mouslings Sci-Fi Mouse Warriors Mice Heroes 25mm Miniatures is available on Ebay US for $14.99 and expires in 11 days 13 hours & 28 minutes.

Otherworld DR1 Drow Warriors I

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

Otherworld have been busy again. This time with a set of evil dark elves or Drow if you like.

Otherworld DR1 Drow Warriors I

Otherworld DR1 Drow Warriors I — Sculpted by Matt Bickley

What would have made this pack perfect would have been a dual-scimitar wielding drow with headband and bracers on his feet. He could possible be mistaken for Drizzt Do’Urden. Add in a large black panther (Guenhwyvar) in a wild encounters set and I’m sold!

Anyway these figures look pretty good to me; well done Matt for a good sculpt.

From the site:

This is a pack of 3 Drow Warriors, the first models of an extensive range planned for the coming months. The photo shows the sculptor’s master models. The Drow range is being sculpted by Matt Bickley. They stand at around 24-26mm tall to the eyes, and will be supplied with 25mm round plastic bases.

Usual Price — £11.00
