Dry Brushing

Dry brushing is a technique where a minimal amount of paint is applied to the brush and wiped off. The residual paint still on the brush is enough to impart paint onto the miniature on raised surfaces creating a highlight effect.

Dry brushing works in tandem with washes on the primary coat to make the figure three dimensional. Washes create shadows, the primary colour in the middle and then the highlights applied with Dry-brushing.
