Dark Heaven Bones – Reaper Goes Polymer

Monday, March 12th, 2012

Reaper have just announced a new line of miniatures, these being polymer miniatures. This means they should be cheaper than their metal equivalents. Reaper state that existing miniature paints will work well with this new range of miniatures.

The first figures out of the box look like a great start. Hopefully they’ll keep adding to them over the coming months.

Check out the video.

So now we have citadel fine cast, Trollcast, and Reaper’s Dark Heaven bones. Who next to jump onto the resin/polymer band-wagon?

Volcano vs. Golden Demon Awards 2010 (France)

Monday, April 19th, 2010

Well it looks like the volcano has won this one hands down, with international flights still at a stand-still over the weekend. So expect the competition to mainly be taken by those able to get to Golden Demon by land, i.e. continental europeans.

The first winner announced on the unofficial Golden Demon Awards site (Slayer Sword winner), “unsurprisingly” goes to… A french person!

Now I’m not saying that they weren’t the deserved winner, but put it this way, If I had won a competition where most of the contestants couldn’t make it, would I think hey aren’t I great! Or would I somehow feel cheated? That I had not really been challenged, and that someone else who couldn’t make it would actually have been the winner? Hmmm, food for thought…

Anyway, Congratulations to Maxime Penaud for taking the Slayer Sword. Head over to Full Repent Blog (warning French) to see some more stunning miniatures from the day, including an image of the winning miniature (just search for Maxime).

Someone has very kindly posted a fine collection of images from the day. An image of the slayer is here.

Finally, here is a rather wobbly youtube vid of Maxime taking the award:
